The primary reason for creating this Website, was to promote Round and Square dancing among the various Clubs in the Kitsap Peninsula area. Providing a Site with as up to date information as possible. I currently cover Bremerton, Olympia, Tacoma, Shelton and Gardiner. The only way I am able to keep the areas, other than Bremerton, current is with the assistance of others.
With the website WheresTheDance.com having significantly better exposure and features, we are transitioning to the use of their website for information. Please visit WheresTheDance.com. I am happy to assist with navigation if you have questions.
We will continue to provide information on Weekend Dances with Programs as they are available. The other information within our site will continue as is, and updated as that information is made available.
We all survive better, have more fun, and meet new friends by supporting one another. Thanks to those already assisting, you are greatly appreciated.
As you might have guessed from the top of the page, we are dancers, as well as Teachers. More specifically, Round Dancers. Round Dancing can be most easily described as “Choreographed” or “Cued” Ballroom dancing, although true Ballroom dancers would argue. We teach basic steps in rhythms such as Two Step, Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, and others. Unlike ballroom dancers, we don’t have to memorize set patterns, but have a Cuer who uses a microphone and tells us what steps to take in order that we all dance the same thing at the same time. This way, we don’t run into each other on the dance floor. We dance around in a circle and hence the name round dance.
As of 1 April 2020 I will be taking over as the Club Cuer for Gig Harbor Twirlers, which dance at the Kitsap Square Dance Center in Bremerton, WA.
