As you might have guessed from the top of the page, we are dancers, as well as Teachers. More specifically, Round Dancers. Round Dancing can be most easily described as “Choreographed” or “Cued” Ballroom dancing, although true Ballroom dancers would argue. We learn basic steps in rhythms such as Two Step, Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, and others. Unlike ballroom dancers, we don’t have to memorize set patterns, but have a Cuer who uses a microphone and tells us what steps to take in order that we all dance the same thing at the same time. This way, we don’t run into each other on the dance floor. We dance around in a circle and hence the name round dance.
